We need this not only on configurable field names, but also dropdown values for fields.
As Freshdesk was "developing something similar" five years ago, I wondered what was now available.
We really need customers to be able to raise a ticket in their own language (those we support). Instead they get a mixture, some bits in English, some in their own language. Need to be able to add translations for field names and dropdown values.
A representation of the fields in mixed languages is not professional. The way through jQuery is of course possible, but a little complicated for more than two different languages. A menu for this configuration would be very good. Both for standard fields and for custom fields.
Fully agree. It does not look very professional. As FreshDesk have a solution for multiple languages in KB and emails, and have translations for standard fields, I would have thought the ways how to solve this issue would be clear.
I assume the majority of FreshDesk customers only use one language, otherwise this issue would have been addressed earlier.
I wonder if Mark is correct, and that most Freshdesk customers are smaller, single-region single-language.
As my own company grows to international scope, and we try to provide the best possible experience regardless of language, this is an embarrassing limitation of our Freshdesk support portal... to the degree that I'm getting internal pressure to move to a different support platform with true multi-lingual features.
I would welcome any solutions to this.
I must confess that Freshdesk is our first choice in terms of usability and functionality. A lack of support for Mulilanguage support is an absolute must for a company with international customers. This should be a default feature. As well as finding values that are in user-defined fields. This is currently not possible. Not officially. The search functionality is not sufficient for professional workflows. But you have to admit that the customer support of Freshdesk is outstanding. They take customer concerns seriously and help wherever they can.
@Mark, James: Not sure if this is a priority or technical problem. But this should be an easy implementation. Have you used the jQuery workaround?
@Christian: Based on your earlier comment I have started to look into the jQuery option. Without an IT group to help me it will take a bit of time. Our site currently supports four European languages.

I've seen that there is a feature request to be able to adapt the text for "Solutions".
I would love to have the ability to not only change any text in the UI, but also the translations. Probably auto-translation doesn't cut it. My proposal: Enable the right mouse click on any text field. Then you get a popup with the changeable text of the field in every supported language. One language is chooseable as the default, so if no translation is provided, the default language is used.
Of course not everybody should be able to do this. Only agents with appropriate authorization should be allowed to access this functionality.
