It would be great if we could grab the agent user string from the browser so we can determine what OS, browser and version our customers are using when they fill out a ticket.

When customers fill out the ticket form on your portal or the feedback widget, we capture these data and display it within the ticket.
Open a ticket and next to the requestor email information, you will find a "Meta" which displays these info.

Can you also grab the Public IP address it was submitted from?
Did this feature get deprecated? Where do I find this information in the latest version of Freshdesk?
As @suhas says, this no longer seems to appear. Here's the very top of a ticket raised in my portal, but there's no Meta button: https://cl.ly/672646a4be4d

Ok, it does work, but only for Feedback Widget submissions, and not from the Portal, in my Freshdesk at least.
For portal submissions the meta button is shown in our system. Don't know if this is a plan level issue or only works with specific customising.
