This would be very helpful. If not a parent-child relationship, having the ability to create company groups or add tags to company profiles would help.

I would also like to see this in a future release. We have distributors and they serve customers. Both submit tickets and it would be helpful to be able to link customers to the distributors and give the "parent" some ability to know their customers are having issues.

I agree with this!
Our use case is academic institutions. We usually sell to several Labs at the same University. They operate independently so we'd like to be able to track them at the Lab level, but also the University level.

As of now, we do not have the option to create a parent company and associate it with a group of child companies. As a workaround, you can try using the Company segment option in Freshdesk which is used to group a set of companies by filtering them based on the company fields. Using company segments you can set the SLA policies, create Automation rules, and set the visibility for knowledge base.
However, we shall definitely pass on your feedback to our product managers and explore the possibilities of having this feature added.
