The External Links app for Freshdesk allows you to manage and utilize external links. External Links provides a centralized hub for administrators to configure and organize links. Whether adding new resources, editing existing ones, or removing outdated links, administrators have complete control over the repository, ensuring that agents can always access the most relevant information.
Freshdesk <> External Links steps for integration
To integrate Freshdesk with External Links,
Login to your support portal.
On the top-right corner, click the Freshworks Marketplace icon and then click Marketplace Apps.
Alternatively, you can go to Admin > Apps to land on the same page.
In the Apps page that appears, search for External Links.
In the External Links page that appears, click Install.
Enter the Freshdesk domain name and API key. Click Authenticate Account
Under Configure external links, click Add link to add the link name (label) and URL.
You can view the added links here. Once you’ve added the links you require, click Install.
Note: You can add up to 50 links.
External Links in Freshdesk
External links widget will show up on the right pane of your tickets.
In the External links widget, you can:
Click the link label/name to open the link.
Click View all to view the complete list of links added.
Hover near the link label and click the copy button to copy the link.
Hover near the link label and click the insert button to add the link automatically to the reply editor.
