If I move tickets from one group to another, will they automatically be assigned to the agents in the new group?

We will be replacing the older version of Freshdesk with the new Mint experience on January 31, 2019. All your data and configurations will remain intact. Switching back to the old Freshdesk will not be possible.

Yes, this would be possible if the latter group has automatic assignment enabled for it.
Please navigate to Admin -> Groups -> click on edit next to the group you are moving the tickets to and Enable "Automatic Ticket Assignment."
